1. Introduction

This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions for refunds and cancellations for vehicle rentals booked through DashDrives. We aim to provide a fair and transparent policy that protects both vehicle owners and renters.

By using our services, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy. Please read it carefully to understand your rights and obligations regarding refunds and cancellations.

2. Cancellation Policy

2.1 Renter Cancellations

The refund amount for cancellations by renters depends on how far in advance the cancellation is made:

  • More than 7 days before pickup: Full refund (100% of the rental fee)
  • 3-7 days before pickup: 75% refund of the rental fee
  • 24-72 hours before pickup: 50% refund of the rental fee
  • Less than 24 hours before pickup: No refund
  • No-show: No refund

2.2 Owner Cancellations

If a vehicle owner cancels a confirmed booking:

  • The renter will receive a full refund (100% of the rental fee)
  • The owner may be subject to penalties as outlined in our Terms of Service
  • We may assist the renter in finding an alternative vehicle

2.3 Modification of Bookings

If you need to modify your booking:

  • Changes to dates or times are subject to the vehicle owner's approval
  • If the modification results in a shorter rental period, the cancellation policy will apply to the canceled portion
  • If the modification results in a longer rental period, additional charges will apply

3. Refund Process

3.1 How to Request a Refund

To request a refund:

  1. Log in to your DashDrives account
  2. Go to "My Trips" or "Bookings"
  3. Select the booking you wish to cancel
  4. Click on "Cancel Booking" and follow the instructions
  5. Alternatively, contact our customer support team

3.2 Refund Processing Time

Once a refund is approved:

  • The refund will be processed within 1-3 business days
  • The time it takes for the refund to appear in your account depends on your payment method and financial institution (typically 5-10 business days)
  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for the booking

4. Exceptions and Special Circumstances

4.1 Early Returns

If you return a vehicle earlier than scheduled:

  • No refund will be provided for the unused portion of the rental period unless agreed upon with the vehicle owner
  • Any refund for early returns is at the discretion of the vehicle owner

4.2 Vehicle Issues

If you experience issues with the rented vehicle:

  • Report the issue immediately to the vehicle owner and DashDrives customer support
  • If the vehicle is unsafe or not as described, you may be eligible for a full or partial refund
  • Documentation (photos, videos, or third-party reports) may be required to support your claim

4.3 Force Majeure

In cases of force majeure (natural disasters, severe weather, government actions, etc.):

  • We will work with both parties to find a reasonable solution
  • Full refunds may be provided at our discretion
  • Rescheduling options may be offered when possible

5. Service Fees

DashDrives charges a service fee for each booking. The refund policy for service fees is as follows:

  • If you are eligible for a 100% refund of the rental fee, the service fee will also be refunded
  • For partial refunds of the rental fee, the service fee is non-refundable
  • If DashDrives cancels a booking due to platform issues, both the rental fee and service fee will be refunded

6. Disputes and Resolution

If you disagree with a refund decision:

  1. Contact our customer support team with details of your case
  2. Provide any relevant documentation or evidence
  3. We will review your case and respond within 5 business days
  4. If the dispute cannot be resolved through our customer support, it will be handled according to the dispute resolution process outlined in our Terms of Service

7. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the platform.

The refund policy that was in effect at the time of booking will apply to that specific booking, even if the policy changes afterward.
